Glenn Cornick – founding member of Jethro Tull – passes away aged 67

Sad news for fans of the classics – British bassist Glenn Cornick, best known for playing in and founding rock band Jethro Tull, has passed away in his Hawaii home after battling congestive heart failure.

One of the biggest bands in shaping the British prog-rock era, Jethro Tull’s bass sound was initially shaped by Cornick, and while he didn’t stay part of the band for long (he left after three years) his style was then continued by those who followed.

Cornick was involved in the band’s biggest hit, ‘Living in the Past’, and played on their first three albums – happily reliving those days with fans at Jethro Tull events in his later years.
